Zoya Brumberg-Kraus, PhD. Scholar. Writer. Editor.

I am Dr. Zoya Brumberg-Kraus, a scholar-writer and editor located in the Detroit Metro Area. I hold a PhD in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a BA in Art Studio from Mount Holyoke College. In 2023-24, I was a Research Fellow at the Frankel Center for Advanced Judaic Studies for the theme year Jewish Visual Cultures.

I write for specialized and general audiences and have been published in Buildings and Landscapes, SCA Roadside journal, SAIC Magazine, Writing From Below, and on a number of blogs and websites. I have been featured on the podcasts Red Library, Subjective Conditions, and Frankely Judaic. You can read more about my publications, talks, and fellowships on my CV.

In my free time, I am a dancer, cinephile, and amateur chef. I love road trips and other travel adventures.
